Healthier Apple Herb Stuffing

A delicious and healthier apple herb stuffing for an that is perfect for an easy Thanksgiving side dish. It is dairy free and can be made gluten free.

Equipment

  • 13x9 Baking Dish
  • Large Mixing Bowl

Ingredients
  

  • 8 cups sliced bread diced
  • 1.5 cups celery diced
  • 1 white onion diced
  • 1 apple diced
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup milk use dairy if applicable
  • 1/4 cup egg whites
  • 1 cup vegetable broth
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh rosemary chopped
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • black pepper and salt to taste

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Start by finely dicing the bread, celery, white onion and apple. Place in a large mixing bowl and mix well
  • In a liquid measuring cup or separate bowl, add olive oil, milk, egg whites, vegetable broth, thyme, rosemary, garlic, black pepper and salt. Whisk together to combine
  • Pour the liquid mixture over the dry ingredients. Using a spatula, mix together until everything is evenly coated
  • Spray baking dish with olive oil spray and add stuffing mixture into the baking dish. Make sure that it is a nice, even layer to bake.
  • Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 40-45 minutes, until top is slightly starting to brown.
  • Serve!
