It is football season and what better appetizer than some crispy air fryer chicken wings for a crowd pleaser? These are so easy to make and create the most perfect crisp on the outside, while leaving the chicken juicy and flavorful. I made these wings with two different seasonings for a nice mix and paired with blue cheese, ranch and celery to cool down all that spice.

If you know me, I love anything to do with hosting. While the gatherings may be small these days, that does not mean we cannot have a mini football watching party! I made these crispy air fryer chicken wings for a Monday night football game and they went so fast that I know they will have to make an appearance at the next full day of Sunday football watching. They are so easy to make and were the perfect healthier take on the classic chicken wings that you order at the local bar to watch a game. It is like getting restaurant quality appetizers in the comfort of your own home or a friends’!
SO… what will you need to make these chicken wings?
- Chicken wings: drumsticks, flats or a mix of both. I’ll always do both, but I’m the first person grabbing the flats for sure
- Olive oil and spray: You’ll need this to coat the chicken wings for the seasonings to stick as well as spraying the air fryer itself
- SEASONINGS: I did a mild chicken spice seasoning for the first batch and used a chile lime seasoning blend from Trader Joe’s for the second batch
- Some salt, pepper and fun!

Air Fryer Chicken Wings
Equipment
- Air Fryer
Ingredients
- olive oil spray
- 2 lbs chicken wings flats, drumsticks or both
Original Chicken Wings (for 1 lb. of chicken wings)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
- salt and pepper to taste
Chile Lime Chicken Wings (1 lb. of chicken wings)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp Trader Joe's Chile Lime Seasoning
- 1 juice lime
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- For the first batch of wings, place wings in a bowl and coat in olive oil
- Mix the seasonings together in a small bowl and add into the bowl with chicken wings. Mix thoroughly until all wings are evenly coated with seasoning blend
- Spray the tray in the air fryer with olive oil spray and place wings in an even layer. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may have to do it in batches (I was able to do 2 batches for 1 lb. of chicken wings)
- Air fry at 400 for 16 minutes, shaking half way to make sure they are not sticking to the tray
- Repeat this process for each batch of chicken wings
- Serve with blue cheese, ranch, celery or dip and veggies of choice!
